Dr. Sanchita Pakrashi, the current director of the organization, through her long professional life as a psychologist has been in touch with people suffering from a wide range of psychological issues either minor or significant. What, according to her, is magical and inspiring about being connected to all these people is that even after overcoming their sufferings, most of them keep in touch with her for years. ‘The family is extending’ as she puts it, ‘Once a person is recovered from the mental health issues, he/she is empowered in the process as a mental health awareness advocate to others in such distress. This is how we develop ourselves and others in society.’ The institution went through a major overhaul when she started helping people in psychological distress under the same roof. As a firm believer in holistic approach of treatment for the human mind the institution earned a new name (Kathae Kathae, Dr. Pakrashi’s Clinic) with added service in the field of mental health. Although the benevolent approach remained the same in the institutional history of four generation’s service to mankind.
